Man Who Threw Hot Coffee Believed to Be Homeless
According to a Lacey Police Department spokesperson, on Friday morning, a McDonald’s employee had to be taken to the hospital after being attacked by an irked customer.
The restaurant’s surveillance camera captured the moments before and after the assault. Early in the morning, the individual could be seen walking into the restaurant and approaching the counter, where the female employee was standing.
The unidentified female manager told the authorities that the individual asked for a cup of hot coffee. She can be seen on camera moving toward the espresso machine to prepare the man’s order. All this time, the individual kept looking at her.
The woman returned with the man’s order and told him that he has to pay $.97 for the coffee. Apparently, this did not bode well with the individual, who later emptied the cup’s content in a travel-size mug.
Next, the suspect handed the employee the travel-size mug, asking for a refill. She refused. He then handed her the empty plastic mug. Again, the female employee refused to fill his cup.
Conclusion
That’s when things really got out of hands. The surveillance camera shows how the individual throws the hot coffee in the female employee’s face. He bolted before the authorities arrived.
Based on the video recordings and the victim’s testimony, the individual could be in his late 40s or 50s. When he was last seen, he was carrying a large brown duffel bag. The suspect wore a blue polar, white pants, and a gray snow cap.
