Washington authorities declared that a homeowner shot an unknown individual at least four times after he discovered the individual prowling outside the children’s bedroom window, searching for a way to get inside. The suspect shot by the Washington father was later apprehended and taken to the hospital to be treated for gunshot injuries.
Washington Father Said the Burglar Had His Face Close to the Glass
On early Tuesday morning, the Pierce County Sheriff’s deputies were summoned to a Spanaway home after the owner told the emergency dispatcher that he discovered an unknown individual prowling outside his children’s bedroom.
The man told the authorities that at approximately 2:15 a.m. while fast asleep, he heard footsteps outside. Seconds later, the motion triggered outdoor lights went off. Believing that thief might try to enter the house, the Washington father armed himself and went to check up on his children, who were also sleeping in the ground floor bedroom.
Upon entering the room, the man saw the silhouette of an individual who appeared to stand in front of the window and asked her wife to take the children upstairs. After he pulled away from the curtains, the Washington father saw an individual standing outside the window, with his face almost touching the glass.
Allegedly, the homeowner asked the individual a couple of times to back away from the bedroom’s window and leave, but the burglar would not comply. The Washington father fired four short towards the window, wounding the prowler at least twice.
The man managed to flee but was later apprehended by the authorities who recognized him. Apparently, the 24-year-old suspect was wanted in connection with several burglaries, perpetrated in the same area.
He was later taken to the hospital where he’s expected to make a complete recovery after his run-in with the Washington father.
