Texas Bar Owner Could Have Slipped Drugs in Woman’s Drinks
Last week, Texas authorities arrested 41-year-old Israel Espiricueta, the owner of The Library bar.
According to the man’s arrest warrant, the suspect has been accused of taking advantage of an unconscious woman after closing hours.
Based on the police report, the victim, whose name was not released, entered the bar at around 2:00 a.m.
The woman told the authorities that she went to Espiricueta’s bar to have drinks with a friend who was working there as a waitress.
During her stay, she was approached by Espiricueta several times who asked even proposed retiring to a motel to have sex.
The woman claimed that the last thing she remembers before waking up at a nearby motel was Espiricueta forcing himself on her.
Texas law enforcement officers reviewed the bar’s security footage. They’ve discovered that before he took the woman to the motel, Espiricueta positioned her on the bar and raped her.
According to the detectives, the woman began experiencing odd symptoms after finishing her last drink.
When the victim woke up in a Hampton Inn and Suites room, Espiricueta was lying naked next to her.
She recalls hearing him say something about ‘murdering’ her the night before. She also told the authorities that the bedsheets were soaked in blood.
Espiricueta was later arrested and charged with sexual battery. However, he was released the same day after posting a $10,000. The Texas bar owner is expected to return to court in June.
