Remember all the cool wallpaper we used to put on our phone’s screen? Different logos, wallpapers with cars, planes and different scenes used to adorn out phone’s screen. But what about a different approach in the area of branding? It seems that Pepsi can answer that one, because Pepsi 1 is scheduled to launch in China.
No, we are not talking about a spacecraft or some sort of yacht made by Pepsi. We are referring to the new mobile phone that bears Pepsi’s coat-of-arms. The new P1 smartphone is set to launch soon in China, with process starting from 110 dollars for each handset. Although the phone doesn’t look too pretty, for that price you’ll get awesome specifications.
Let’s take a quick gander at the new concept of smartphone. First of all, the low price is not by change that way. Pepsi wanted to design a phone suitable for low budget, but with the specs of a mid-range smartphone.
The new phone, knighted Pepsi P1, will be produced by Shenzhen Scooby Communication Equipment Co. and it is scheduled to launch in China for a recommended price of 200 dollars. The smartphone includes a 1080- pixel touchscreen, has 2 GB of ram and it also comes equipped with a fingerprint sensor.
As to the phone’s imaging capabilities, P1 has a 13 MP back camera, with an LED flash and a 5MP front camera that will ensure that all your selfies are A1 quality.
The phone’s screen has a size of 5.5 inches and is capable of rendering pictures and videos in full HD. Now the processor itself has a frequency of 1.7 GHz, making sure all of those applications are running smoothly.
Regarding communications, the Pepsi P1 will include a 4G LTE wireless adaptor and a battery of 3000 milliamps, which can guarantee that you can talk on your phone for up to 8 hours. P1 features the Android Lollipop operating system. Other features may include a microSD card holder. The phone itself will come in 3 colors, more specifically you are able to choose between gold, silver or blue.
Pepsi announced that the phone will be sold in 3 stages. In the first state, the phone hit the market and literally disappeared over night, given the fact that it was sold for only 78 dollars. In the second stage, the phone will be available for the price of 110 dollars. And for those who won’t be able to buy the phone, there’s no worry, because Pepsi is planning another buyout, although you would have to pay 156 dollar in order to get your hands on a Pepsi handset.
