A Muslim student was recently removed from a Southwest Airlines flight for speaking on his phone in Arabic, which the liberal media reported as a sickening violation of his rights and a blatant bout of Islamophobia. However, just days after he was kicked off the plane, a key detail surfaced that the mainstream media is desperately trying to contain.
Khairuldeen Makhzoomi, a 26-year-old Iraqi Muslim immigrant to the U.S. and student at the University of California in Berkley, was escorted from his flight for what he claims was an innocent conversation with his uncle in Baghdad. A nearby passenger overheard Makhzoomi speaking Arabic and reported his conversation to authorities, who forced him to gather his things and exit the plane. According to Makhzoomi and the leftist media, this was nothing less than a case of American bigotry, but what has since been uncovered begs a further investigation.
Makhzoomi claims that the female passenger heard him say “insh’allah” (Allah willing) and thought he said “shahid” (martyr), he told the Daily Californian. However, there are a few things that simply don’t add up with his story.
Fox News segment Happening Now with guest host Heather Nauget reported that the woman who reported Makhzoomi to the airline crew is not simply an American citizen, but an Arabic speaker herself, according to LawNewz.com. The unidentified woman allegedly heard Makhzoommi mention the Islamic State along with martyrdom, and she quickly resorted to the “see something, say something” policy.
Whether the woman will come forward to address these allegations is uncertain, but one thing that stands out is the two words to which Makhzoomi points that leave us confused. In’shallah and shahid sound nothing alike, even to a non-Arabic speaker. However, even if this woman cannot speak or understand Arabic, it is extremely unlikely that she would be familiar with the word shahid. As studious about Islam as many Americans have become in light of the recent escalation in Islamic terrorist attacks, shahid isn’t typically a word mentioned by right-wing media that many liberals are blaming for the woman’s concerns. Of course, these revelations aren’t enough to cause the biased MSM to question the authenticity of Makhzoomi’s story.

In a dangerous and highly unethical attempt to kowtow to Islam, the Washington Post purposefully left out key details about the woman, even alleging that she is just another American who doesn’t understand Arabic. The Post’s prolific propaganda piece even went so far as to say that the word “jihad” means “striving, applying oneself, persevering,” when in reality the Quran is very clear about how the mujahideen (martyrs) are to make jihad.
“Not equal are those of the believers who sit (at home), except those who are disabled (by injury or are blind or lame, etc.), and those who strive hard and fight in the Cause of Allah with their wealth and their lives. Allah has preferred in grades those who strive hard and fight with their wealth and their lives above those who sit (at home).Unto each, Allah has promised good (Paradise), but Allah has preferred those who strive hard and fight, above those who sit (at home) by a huge reward.” [Quran 4:89]
Not only does Allah command his believers to physically fight “with their lives,” he criticizes the peaceful moderates who sit at home and do not join in jihad. While Muslim apologists would attempt to argue that this passage is simply misunderstood, they have a difficult time explaining why this and the 108 other scriptures that command violence in jihad are not to be taken literally — especially since that’s exactly what their prophet modeled for them.
