There were revealed a lot of cases which demonstrated that many insured kids were not provided essential health care. This extreme situation should be analyzed by authorities, taking some drastic measures. For example, Margo Solomon and her four kids have all health insurance. The woman argued that she has desperately tried to find a doctor who was willing to accept the insurance she owns.
Three of her kids suffer from asthma and they need attentive medical care, and the another child has, even more, severe health issues which need to be treated urgently. She cannot afford the necessary treatment to cure her children. Fortunately, a new study which will be published by the Children’s Health Fund on November 28 will change all the similar situations.
This non-profit based organization in New York City is bound to amplify health care services for unprivileged children, about disadvantaged families. The study conducted by this corporation has proved that 1 out of 4 kids in the US did not receive primary health care, although a significant number of young people are provided with health insurance.
The survey has brought evidence for the idea that approximately 20.3 million citizens with ages under 18 do not have access to medical care which obeys pediatric standards. American Academy of Pediatrics claimed in its guidelines that all kids should receive health visits for immunization purposes, preventing a broad range of illnesses.
Medical staff should deliver to children management bound to instruct them and their families regarding chronic and acute medical conditions. Unprivileged children should be able to acquire access to dental and mental health care, having permanent access to subspecialists bound to provide necessary care or information in case of emergencies.
Medicaid and a lot of other private insurance enterprises proposed that all these medical services should be made available under the umbrellas of the medical home. However, the new study has proved that a massive number of insured kids were not permitted to benefit from these services. Unfortunately, there exist many cases of children who own a medical insurance and do not receive necessary care or special care if their disease is an acute one.
It is outrageous that with all the advanced technology which medicine could provide us, there are still kids in the US who do not receive what they are entitled to get.
