Global warming is on the rise. What should we expect?

According to a new study,  experts are warning us that the world is almost to breaking the 1.5C limit for global warming! So the situation does not seem very good. Scientists set this target eight months ago, at the Paris convention. They hoped this will increase the efforts to fight climate changes. However, the experts found out that the limit set will be reached too soon.

Ed Hawkins, a meteorologist from the Reading Univeristy said that the average global temperature was 1.38 when they decided the target so this is who it will be extremely difficult to follow. Even though most of the nations decided to help fight global warming, it seems that they are not doing enough things to protect out planet.

Researchers are advising us not to be under the illusion that something will change this year, as it would be a very difficult task to do. We are expecting new goals and measures to be taken as a new climate change talk will happen in Geneva.

Why is global warming so important for us and what can we do in order to prevent it? Global warming is a gradual increase in the average temperature of the Earth’s atmosphere and its oceans. The main reason why this is happening is because of the industrial activities that our society depends on. They have raised the atmospheric carbon dioxide and produced greenhouse gases which are very harmful to our planet.

Many people assume solar irradiance is guilty of global warming. According to the studies, solar variability played a role in past climate changes.  The average amount of energy coming from the sun increased just a little since 1750. Carbon dioxide is the major factor of climate changes. It is released through natural processes, but also due to human activities such as deforestation or land-use changes.

What should we expect? Well,  the greenhouse effect will warm the oceans and also melt glaciers. The sea level will rise and that may affect houses built along the sea cost. In the future, there are hundreds of cities expected to be underwater because of it. Nowadays, reducing emissions in not enough. We must also do something about the changes that are already happening.  This is the only way to fight against global warming.
