Specialists argued that the addiction which already installed in the body makes giving up smoking harsh. It was demonstrated that one of the most common triggers which fuel the desire of smoking is stress. If you have a stressful job, or a big family, maybe financial problems, or the holidays approaching, then you feel pressured by all these things, and you think that smoking is a method of relief.
Other triggers which will prevent you from giving up smoking are coffee or alcoholic drinks. For example, if you are a coffee lover and you find it very pleasant to take a sip of coffee followed by smoke from your cigarette, then it will become extremely hard for you to quit. Smokers are heavily irresponsible when spinning in endless circles of lighted cigarettes. Others have started smoking out of boredom or because they believe it will help them lose some extra weight.
What is more, it is childish to believe that it is a good idea to take up smoking only because all your friends do it. Quitting this awful habit can make you feel free. It is like your lungs get the chance to lose the chains which prohibited them from properly breathing. To completely give up smoking, a smoker should consider three different links that must be stimulated when deciding to quit.
A smoker should regard the mental, social and physical aspects of his or her tobacco addiction. If you want to cross out the physical addiction from your list, then you need to use some nicotine substitution therapy, helping you to no longer crave cigarettes.
The mental addiction is erased when you delete smoking from your daily routine. The social addiction was always used as a crack in a wall through which you were able to establish relationships with other smokers, becoming friends or co-workers. You will be as good as socializing even if you give up smoking. If you consider yourself not being a quitter when it comes to leading a long life, at least be a quitter once, when it comes to smoking.
