Getting Eevee to evolve is quite simple once you remember the anime characters.
Eevee is one of the most desired pokémons in Pokémon Go. The fluffy, rabbit-squirrel combination can evolve into three different pokémons with a wide array of powers, an attribute that every self-respecting pokémon trainer wants to possess. Some users that were diehard fans of the 90s anime discovered an easy trick to force Eevee to evolve into either Jolteon, Vaporeon, or Flareon.
If you remember the original Pokémon cartoons, then you know the Eevee brothers. Pyro, Rainer, and Sparky were three triplets that crossed paths with Ash during his journey to become the best Pokémon trainer in the world.
The three episodic characters owned a Flareon, Jolteon, and Vaporeon. However, there was a correlation between their names and their evolved forms of Eevee. You could tell by their pocket monster of choice, their clothing, and their names that each was a fan of electric, water, and fire pokémons.
It seems that the creators of Pokémon Go kept this detail in mind when they developed the game because by just renaming your Eevees you can make them evolve into one of the chosen forms.
All you have to do is collect enough Eevee candies to get your Eevee to evolve. Then, you tap on the pocket monster and a pencil icon will appear beside its given name. If you rename it to Pyro, Rainer, or Sparky and then feed it the candies, the Eevee will evolve into either Flareon, Vaporeon, or Jolteon.
There were a couple of cases in which the trick was unsuccessful. However, there is also a method to bypass it. Sometimes glitches appear in the game, and the code doesn’t recognize the names. The solution is to rename your Eevees, restart the game and then try to evolve it again. It sounds like a lot of trouble, but then again, a Flareon, Jolteon, or Vaporeon are no Ratatta.
If you were a fan of the original series, and even if you weren’t, it might be a good idea to watch the series again. Apart from the deep nostalgia that it will evoke, you may find additional hidden treasures that will help you become the best Pokémon trainer in the world. After all, Ash should be the best mentor of them all.
