Indiana Couple Said They Wanted to Teach Kids About What Prison Feels Like
On Tuesday, Ashley Stigers and Shannon Breaux, an Indiana couple, appeared before the magistrates to answer for the charges stemming from their June arrest. According to court documents, Breaux and Stigers repeatedly and cruelly subjected their children to extreme torture in an attempt to discipline him.
In June, a deputy was dispatched to the couple’s West Lafayette house to conduct a welfare check. The deputy found nothing out of the ordinary until he stepped into the couple’s living room.
According to the incident report, the deputy saw a rope hanging from the ceiling and several items scattered around the room which could have been used to torture, someone.
Upon searching the house, the deputy found a boy and a girl; both covered in bruises. The couple was later taken into custody and charged with criminal confinement and neglect of a dependent.
A Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson declared that the children were found tied up in the couple’s home.
Conclusion
During question, Stigers told the detectives that Breaux came up with the idea. When the children misbehaved, Breaux would place a rope around their feet and neck before using a buckle to retrain their hands.
This means that every time the child tried to move his feet, he would choke on the rope. The boy also told the authorities that his father would lock him in the garage, denying him food, water, and the use of a bathroom.
Stigers said that she repeatedly attempted to put an end to Breaux’s cruel methods.
