During “The Palin Update” this Monday, Donald Trump voiced his interest about bringing Sarah Palin into his team. Trump mentioned that the reason why he would love to have her on his side is because of “her kind of strength”. The presidential candidate commends Palin on being a very effective politician while a vast number of GOP candidates are “weak” or “ineffective”. It is debatable, however, whether Trump actually wants to team up with Palin because of an actual interest or just for the number of supporters she has.
While the presidential candidate appraised Palin, he did not offer any precise argument about his choice. He mentioned that “she is a special person” and that she “knows what’s happening”. It makes us wonder what his true intentions are. He did mention that his supporters request that he partner with Sarah Palin and that she is a voice that could shift voters towards or against him.
“Like me, she’s got people that don’t exactly love us and we understand who they are and sort of forget about that, but she has a tremendously loyal group of people out there for her.”
While he did relate to her for how she speaks her opinion freely and how she deals with the people who do not fully agree with her, his statement seems to be an indicator that he is reaching out for the votes. He might not want an actual partnership with Palin, but just to attract or even lure her to his side until he gets those votes up and running. Trump did not mention any position that he would have in mind for the GOP candidate.
While Trump’s intentions remain vague, Sarah Palin is offering her support to the presidential candidate. She called Trump a hero last week when he undermined McCain’s military heroism. She is also backing him up stating the following:
“Trump is the candidate giving voice to untold millions of fed-up Americans witnessing a purposeful destruction of our economy and the equal opportunity for success that made America exceptional.”
For the time being, the two politicians joined forces in hope of winning the presidential run. However, the choices that were made seem stiff and out of place. While interests are certainly involved, Trump’s campaign is far from over and time will show us if his intentions are pure, his partnerships solid and if he is the president who we all need.
