Samsung Galaxy Note 5 was one of the most awaited handsets of the year. Many words have described its fantastic specs, its innovative features, its flawless design, its capacitive workings and its sales potential. The guys from Samsung have thought they clearly envisioned something new and fresh for all the sales markets around the world.
But we have a little bit of history repeating over here. As it happened last year with iPhone 6, now Samsung faces a great challenge, namely a great flaw in design. We don’t have a bending issue now, but we have a stylus issue coming right along with the Samsung Galaxy Note 5.
Normally, The Pen inserts easily into the body of the cellphone and a spring-loaded mechanism ejects it. But, as Android Police has discovered, the new design is not that robust and as well imagined at all. If one tries to gently insert the S-Pen backwards into the slot, one can irreversibly damage the Galaxy Note 5.
There is nevertheless a right way to dock the S-Pen into the device, by sliding the pointy end in it first. If you slide the blunt end first, the S-pen will get jammed in the device. From another perspective, how many people still make use of the stylus pen? We are so familiarized with using our finger tips for most actions when it comes to touch screen devices, that a stylus pen sounds rather outdated. But anyways, it is nevertheless an elegant way of using a smart device.
Sticking to the flaw in the system, on the Galaxy Note 5, usually, removing the S-Pen when the screen is on will launch the radial S-Pen menu. After placing the stylus backwards and wiggling it out, all of the mentioned features stopped working.
Nothing is perfect, eventually, much less a technical device that gets broken easily. It would have been great if Samsung had managed to deliver a flawless device, but it gets harder and harder, the more so they always rush to constantly come with something better, faster and stronger than their previous models. Quality takes time and companies don’t take their time anymore to deliver the highest degrees of quality.
