The North American International Auto Show is held every year in Detroit, Michigan. The show is usually held in January, at the Cobo Center. This show is one of the largest car shows in North America. This year, the Detroit Auto Show will premiere new car models and concepts. Detroit is the first city to begin the season of the auto shows, with Chicago, New York, Paris, Beijing and other big cities following soon. Here are the best cars from Detroit’s car show.
One of the most anticipated cars of this year will be the new Mercedes E-Class. The new Mercedes has a lot of new technologies that make it stand out from other new car models. A lot of safety features have been included, like the evasive maneuver assistance, the adaptive cruise control and the emergency brake. If the car senses other cars that are about to cross your way, the emergency break activates. The evasive maneuver assistance on the other side can spot people on the streets and it helps you distance your car from them.
More lightweight materials have been used for the new Mercedes, in order to lower its total weigh and to boost the gas mileage. The car will have a powerful, twin turbo, V8 engine.
Another car that will make its appearance at the show in Detroit will be Chevy’s Bolt. This car is in fact an improved version of the Volt. This electric car can reach up to 200 miles on one charge. According to GM, Bolt is the perfect combination between affordable and long range. The $30.000 car takes an average of nine hours to charge, but in only one hour, it can reach an 80% life battery.
The SUV Envision launched by Buick will also be launched at the show. The only country that has already started selling this car is China, where the brand is extremely popular. Envision is a medium sized SUV, which is larger than Encore but still smaller than Enclave. Encore was the bestselling Buick in the last eight years and Enclave’s sales continue to grow constantly, since its launch in 2007. The engine has a 252 horsepower, a parking technology and a 360 degree camera. The 2.0 liter engine is able to take Envision from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.4 seconds. Other features of the car will include the Active Noise Cancellation, the Quiet-Tuning, a panoramic sunroof and a heated steering wheel.
