South Florida Citizen Attacked in his Own Backyard
Andy Meunier, the lucky South Florida citizen who went two rounds with a grizzly bear and lived to tell the tale told the reporters that it wasn’t the first time he’s seen bears in that neck of the woods. In fact, bears are quite a common sight in Naples, but no one was mauled, until now.
Meunier recalls that he woke up on Tuesday night to let his dog out the back door. After taking a few paces, Meunier suddenly turned around only to find himself face-to-face with a pissed off bear. The South Florida citizen recalls sitting there and staring at the bear who was only a feet away from him.
Realizing that his life might be in danger, the man turned around really fast and tried to seek refuge inside his house. However, as Meunier told the reports, as he was turning left in order to flee, the bear stroke him right in the face.
When asked by the reporters how he managed to get away from the enraged bear, Meunier simply smiled and told them he doesn’t recall what he did in order to get away from the bear, only that he’s happy to have survived this onslaught.
The man was later rushed to the emergency room, where the doctors used no less than 41 stitches to fix the face wound. According to the doctor’s on call, the bear almost ripped out the man’s left side of the face.
