Razer introduced the Nabu Watch, the watch that combines new technologies with old ones. Razer is one of the most loved gaming companies in the world, having a very large and devout fanbase. When talking about their latest watch, the CEO of Razer, Min-Liang Tan, said that Nabu wasn’t a smartwatch, but more of a watch that is smart.
The Nabu watch can tell you the time, the date, has stopwatches and can set alarms. Even though this makes it look like the usual watch, the second smaller screen makes it similar to a smartwatch. You are able to see your emails, phone messages and you can use it for fitness purposes, as the watch can track your steps.
The watch has five buttons, two on each side of the display and one in the bottom. The side buttons make it look like the old models of watches. The bottom button lets you navigate through the smart part of the Nabu watch. The Nabu watch has two batteries included. One of the major qualities of the watch is that its timepiece battery can last up to 18 months. On the other hand, the smart part of Nabu needs to be recharged once a week. The charging cable is strong and magnetic. The watch can be used for outdoor activities, as it is waterproofed for up to 50 meters.
Other features of the Nabu watch include a stopwatch, a countdown timer, measuring modes, full calendar, world time and multi-function alarms. The watch has a shock resistance of 16 feet, it can be synced with a mobile through Bluetooth and it has a 5ATM water resistance.
The watch is a pretty large and chunky one. Since it has a big format and it is covered in rubber, it can be worn only on casual occasions. Razer’s usual customers are expected to buy this watch in major numbers, but the people who are not familiar with the company and their products will most probably get a similar one for a cheaper price, from a competing company, like Casio. Although the smart part of the watch doesn’t allow you to do that many things, it can be a good investment for the people who would only use the smart part to read their notifications.
Razer introduced the Nabu watch that can be yours for $149, or for $199, if you prefer the Forged edition.
