Legion Allows Hunter Gnomes
World of Warcraft’s Legion expansion has been detailed at BlizzCon and one of the features that intrigues players is related to Gnomes. As you might already know Legion allows Hunter Gnomes after many years in which players have been requesting them. It’s about time they were implemented, but some people just cannot get over the fact that it took way, way too long. Still, Blizzard are trying to compensate this drawback by adding a few unique pets, specific to the Gnome Hunter entirely.
The entire concept is rather tricky to begin with. Imagine that a hunter is, by default, a character which spends a long time communing with nature and trying to understand its pulse. Gnomes are not those kinds of characters. They just like advanced technological development. At the same time, since they like guns so much, there was absolutely no reason not to have a gnome hunter, but communing with the nature just doesn’t feel right for them.
And this is where the new pets come in: Gnomes are not getting actual pets, but mechanical ones, robots. Along with their Goblin friends, Gnomes will be eligible for these new pets. But that’s not all. The Gnome will actually be able to start with a Giant Robot pet which he will be able to bend to his will, or you could just think that the robot is programmed to do as the Gnome says, but that’s not exactly cool now, is it?
So what if the other Hunters who would like to have a robot pet too? Well, you can get one, but you will practically need “the blessing” of a Gnome in order to do so. Engineers will now be able to craft a specific item that will ensure that you ca possess a mechanical creature. But do you think that this is the end of the story? Not at all. It looks like Blizzard intends to make this process a rather special one.
If you want a mecha-friend you will first need to find one, then your Hunter skills will be tested in order to see whether you are worth of possessing one or not. Don’t worry, the process is carefully crafted so you will be able to acquire your mecha-friend without too much of a headache. Blizzard actually described a challenge in which you need to figure out how to over-energize a mechanostrider if you wanted it to be your pet.
So now that Legion allows Hunter Gnomes, have you thought about what mecha-friend you want?
