The latest photo of Zuckerberg and daughter raises praise and criticism. The photo of Mark Zuckerberg and Maxima was taken at the doctor’s, right before vaccinations and was posted on January 8.
When the daughter of Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan was born, they wrote a letter that was later published on Facebook. The letter claimed that the couple had decided to give up 99% of the shares of their company. This decisions was influenced by the birth of their first child, as they decided to make the world a better place for Maxima to live in.
The photo that shows Zuckerberg holding his daughter, that is in an adorable multi colored Patagonia snowsuit managed to raise millions of likes. Many people were convinced that behind the cute father and daughter picture, stands a message from Zuckerberg, that is endorsing vaccinations. This could be also because Silicon Valley is known for a very low vaccination rate.
Even though the millions of likes and the positive comments showed love and support for the Zuckerberg family, there were many anti-vaccinations critics who disapproved of Zuckerberg. Some of his critics even said that Zuckerberg was doing it because he was paid by drug companies to promote vaccinations. Most of the comments were positive though, and toddler vaccination was encouraged in a lot of comments.
The two month appointment for vaccination will protect baby Maxima against tetanus, hepatitis B, whooping cough and other viruses.
Doctors are highly encouraging the parents of newborn babies to get them vaccinated on time, in order to protect them against the many viruses they are exposed to at this early stage of their lives. There are actually 14 diseases that can be prevented with the help of vaccinations. Many parents in the United States decide against immunizing their child, due to concerns about the safety of vaccinations.
Even though the parents who don’t let their kids be vaccinated because they believe that they are going to be safer, experts disagree. For example, in California, Washington and Vermont the number of cases of whipping cough has increased due to the lack of vaccination. Due to the same reasons, the number of measles cases has rocketed as well.
According to a study, there are three major misconceptions related to vaccination. Parents believe that the natural immunity is better and safer, that autoimmune diseases can be caused by vaccines and that the systems of the babies are too weak to get that many shots.
As the latest photo of Zuckerberg and daughter raises praise and criticism, it comes as a reinforcement of the fact that Zuckerberg supports toddler vaccination. In 2015, Zuckerberg also recommended a book that supports vaccination.
