Two completely new, cheap and cool smartphones will break the markets in a short while. John Sculley, well known for his work with Apple, is back with two phones that are extremely cheap and amazingly performant. SF1 and SJ1.5 are addressed to young users and are not necessarily meant to compete with the expensive models one can now find on the markets.
They simply are addressed to a different niche. The SF1 is a 4G LTE device with a Snapdragon 610 processor and a full HD display which will be sold for $200. On the other hand, we have the SJ1.5, a 3G smartphone sold for $120 and a bit less powerful than its brother from the same father.
When it comes to the design of these two little pieces of technology, the news can’t get better. They look just like those high end devices you only see in pictures. The handsets are made in partnership with Ammunition, the company that also designed the original Beats headphones.
The Obi Worldphone SF 1 is the company’s premier 4G/LTE smartphone which features a unique 5 inch display made of Corning Gorilla Glass, a high quality material which is worth the money you should take off your piggy bank, provided you like the way it looks, feels and works for your expectations.
The phones are designed with Qualcomm and MediaTek processors, have a Sony camera, Corning Gorilla Glass and Dolby sound. The reason why a team of savvies got on a mission to offer some cheap pieces of technology is that youngsters make the markets. They are extremely attracted to all technology has to offer and they basically drive the trends in tech.
The phones are surprisingly affordable, considering they hold Qualcomm, Sony and Dolby parts inside. John Sculley pointed out that his company refuses to compromise on the quality of its releases only to reach a low price point.
SJ1.5 with 3G technology has a Quad-Core processor and it is available in three colors, namely red, white and black. It costs only $129 and it comes with 16GB of internal storage. Both phones have dual SIM slots and will launch in Thailand, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, South Africa, Turkey, India, Pakistan and the UAE.
The Gorilla Glass addition is an extremely important asset, as it prevents the devices from the damage caused by breaks and drops. This material is just as thin and light as previous versions and it has been designed to deliver extreme safety when it comes to the potential damage your handset might be exposed to.
