New York Police Department is trying to identify the individual responsible for the stabbing death of an elderly Brooklyn couple. According to the authorities, both victims were stabbed to death in front of their house. The perpetrator could have worn a ski mask at the time of the attack.
Brooklyn Elderly Couple Fought the Aggressor
The New York authorities are combing the city in search for an individual believed to be responsible for the death of an elderly couple in the Prospect Lefferts Gardens. Sources inside the police declared that the couple was discovered by a neighbor who happened to pass that area.
On Wednesday, the law enforcement officers were summoned to the Prospect Lefferts Gardens neighborhood, after a caller reported that a robbery in progress. Upon arriving at the location, the authorities discovered 59-year-old Hazel Brown and 65-year-old Stephenson Bonaparte lying in front of their house.
Both of them were unresponsive when the authorities arrived, being discovered by one of their neighbors. Unfortunately, the 65-year-old was declared dead at the scene, while his wife passed away later that day after being taken to the Kings County Hospital Center.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the couple was stabbed to death by an unknown individual who fled the scene briefly before the authorities arrived. Several eyewitnesses saw a man wearing a ski mask in the area where the Brooklyn elderly couple was stabbed.
The authorities believe that the individual attempted to rob the couple before stabbing them to death. Subsequently, given their injuries, the couple possibly fought with the aggressor. Bonaparte, the 65-year-old man, was the owner of religious items store which might explain why he and his wife were attacked in broad daylight.
At the moment, the New York authorities haven’t made any arrests, as they are trying to identify the masked individual.
