The ice cream is returning to shelves
In the spirit of the holiday season we are delighted to announce that Blue Bell will jingle again. After eight months of absence, the famous ice cream is coming back to the shelves starting today.
Blue Bell ice cream has been recalled from the market in April after the authorities linked it to 10 cases of listeria in four different states. Three of the victims have died at a Kansas hospital.
Now the company declared that it has improved its procedures of manufacturing, granting more importance to cleaning and sanitation. The company has even hired a microbiology expert who will monitor all of the company’s practices.
Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in Mississippi announced that they are waiting for a delivery of almost 200 gallons of ice cream which they will give for free with any purchase. Their goal is to let people know that the Blue Bell ice cream is back and better than ever.
TyAnn Ellis, manager at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate factory announces that the promotion is going to start at an undetermined time, depending on the arrival of the shipment. The store is open from 9 to 9.
Starting today you will find on the shelves many traditional flavors, including the Butter Pecan, The Great Divide, Cookies ‘n Cream, Homemade Vanilla and Dutch Chocolate.
Ellis is expecting many people to take advantage of their offer after such a long drought, especially during this stressful season when everybody enjoys a good treat, not to say a free one.
Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory hasn’t had Blue Mountain ice cream on their shelves since the listeria contamination earlier this year. Thy had to purchase ice cream from their Sysco provider which, even if it’s ‘pretty good’ it’s still not premium ice cream and it doesn’t compare to Blue Bell.
The Chocolate Factory had a rough year without Blue Bell on their shelves which accounts for almost one-third of their total sales. Ellis says that many customers entered the store and walked out disappointed after asking about Blue Bell. The majority of people prefer to have no ice cream rather than having something else than Blue Bell.
But the agony finally ends today. Blue Bell ice cream returns to shelves in Mississippi and Louisiana. The ice cream company is now producing only some of their flavors, such as The Great Divide, Pistachio Almond, Peppermint, Homemade Vanilla, Dutch Chocolate, Cookies ‘n Cream and Butter Pecan.
Let’s hear Blue Bell jingle again!
