BlackBerry launches its applications on Android

Even though BlackBerry is not selling as many smartphones as it did in the past,  the company found another way to reach the customers. Blackberry has released its Hub+ on Google Play for devices using Android Marshmallow. The Canadian phone maker is trying to raise company’s sales and get as many users as possible.

Hub+  is a suite of apps that until now were able to be used only on BlackBerry 10, but they want more potential users. You can try it for free during the first 30 days trial, then you will have a choice to make. You either pay 99 cents per month or continue using the suite with ads.  By using Hub+, you will be able to have access to BB’s contacts, device search and apps. Even so, the famous virtual keyboard BlackBerry has is not available for Android users.

An important thing to know is that not all the smartphones that are running Android are able to run the suite yet. But there is reason to worry as BlackBerry is adding more models to its compatibility list everyday. Hub+ is available only on smartphones. And the company is not stopping here. They have bigger plans for the future as the suite could be available on Android Lollipop and iOS too.

Hub+ can be used easily. You will just have to set a Gmail account as your official mail account and open the application. It will detects and pull in notifications from the social media networks you are using. Of course, you can choose to turn off the notifications.BlackBerry seems to manage very well the Android Marshmallow. We are waing to see if other versions of Android will be able to use this feature too.

The first BlackBerry device was released in 1999 and it gained major popularity at that time. Unfortunatelly, things did not work so well for the company during the years. Sales went down especially after Nokia released its first smartphone. In 2013, BlackBerry announced  they want to sell company because of the unfavourable financial position in the mobile industry. There were more than 4000 people who lost their jobs and only four BlackBerrys were still produced.

Even though the situation is better for them now,  they are still looking for the success they had years ago. That is the main reason why they are launching this new application. They want to reach as many potential users as possible.
