Baby Jaxon is living much longer than expected.
Jaxon Buell is a 15 months boy who was born with Microhydranecephaly, an extremely rare condition that affects the brain. This week the baby born with rare malformations of the brain met Santa and proved the doctors who said that he would only live one week wrong.
Baby Jaxon was diagnosed with a rare malformation of the brain. This malformation is characterized by hydrancephaly as well as microcephaly. Microcephaly is a disorder that results in a really small head and incomplete brain development. Hydrancephaly is a condition in which the cerebral hemispheres of the brain are missing and the remaining space is filled with fluid. This condition may result in intellectual disabilities, delays in developing and in a short life.
His mother Brittany posted a picture of him meeting Santa Claus for the first time at the mall and another one showing the baby near a Christmas tree. When asked about Jaxon his father said that he is in one of the best places he’s ever been and that he hopes that this will continue.
Jaxon is now learning the basic skills like how to walk, speak, smile and communicate. He is even attempting to eat on his own and his parents pray that he will beat the odds and that he will no longer depend on a machine and that they are extremely happy to see their son growing.
His dad, Brandon Buell hopes that Jaxon grows up to be an inspiring person like other people with disabilities are and he says that he knows that Jaxon lives for a reason. He continued by saying that the influence of these kids is immense. Brandon also responded to the persons who said that they should have ended the pregnancy the moment they found out about the baby’s malformations. He said that he can’t understand how people talk so easily about ending an innocent life.
A question mark hangs over the future of Jaxon but his parents are determined to give him the best years of his life, no matter how many they will be.
