Killer Nanny Yoselyn Ortega Found Guilty of Murder

April 19, 2018 By Ben Beckstrom Leave a Comment

Yoselyn Ortega

Yoselyn Ortega was found guilty of murder on Wednesday.

COUNCIL CHRONICLE – The jury has spoken – Yoselyn Ortega, nicknamed the ‘Killer Nanny’ is guilty as charged. The verdict was on Wednesday, concluding a 7-week-long trial that taxed both jurors and the Krim family, compelled to relive the October 2012 events.

Yoselyn Ortega Mental Issue Defense Shattered by Prosecution

On Wednesday, the jury found Yoselyn Ortega guilty of butchering 6-year-old Lucia Krim and 2-year-old Leo Krim in October 2012.

Despite Ortega’s attorney pressing towards having the killer nanny committed to a mental facility, as her previously ‘undiagnosed’ mental condition was at fault for the October slayings, the prosecution shattered Valerie Van Leer-Greenburg’s defense, stating that envy was Ortega’s motive and not her fleeting mental status quo.

The prosecutors proved before judge and jury that Ortega’s jealousy towards Krim almost perfect family was what made her take up the knife and butcher Leo and Lucia.

In the last day of Ortega’s trial, only Mr. Krim was present, this wife being indisposed. As the jury read the verdict, Yoselyn Ortega remained unmoved save for a few teardrops upon exiting the courtroom.

Mr. Krim remained unfazed, casually shaking hands with the prosecutors and other members of the jury before leaving.

Soon after the verdict was made public, Mrs. Krim uploaded a post to her social media account in which she wrote about how much she loves her children.

Conclusion

The killer nanny’s trial took a toll on every party involved, even the members of the jury. Silence reigned in the courthouse when a bereaved Mrs. Krim recalled how she saw the emptiness in her children’s eyes or how their bodies were covered with blood.

Mr. Krim was also compelled to recalled during his stand the long morgue hallway and how much he struggled to maintain his composure upon seeing Lucia and Leo’s bodies lying on the cold slabs.

Chick-Fil-A

The Chick-Fil-A fight was recorded by another customer.

The Atlanta authorities reported that four Atlanta women had been arrested on Wednesday after getting involved in a fight. According to the police report, the incident occurred just outside a Chick-Fil-A restaurant’s drive-thru and could have ended in tragedy, as one of the suspects brandished a gun.

Atlanta Women Caught on Tape by Chick-Fil-A Customer

On Wednesday, at around 9 a.m., the Atlanta authorities were summoned to the Chick-Fil-A restaurant, located on Bill Kennedy way. The caller told the 911 operator that he witnessed four people fighting outside the restaurant’s drive-thru.

According to several eyewitnesses, including a woman who recorded the incident with her phone, the fight involved four Atlanta women, who arrived at the restaurant in separate vehicles.

The minute-long movie reveals the women getting out of their cars and started screaming at each other right outside the restaurant. At one point, one of them, later identified as 24-year-old Vornshay Redding, pulled a gun and placed it on another woman’s forehead.

The woman stepped back, as Redding can be seen flapping around her arms while yelling at her. Meanwhile, two other women were standing beside Redding’s car, with one of them trying to restrain the other.

After a couple of more seconds of arguing with the woman, Redding opens her car’s door and steps into the vehicle. Upon closing the door, the other woman can be seen spitting at her.

At that point, Redding becomes enraged and attempts to leave the vehicle to confront the woman. However, she manages to slap Redding, who drops her gun. While Redding was fighting the woman, the two bystanders began fighting each other.

The scuffle ended several minutes before the authorities arrived. All four Atlanta women were taken into custody. Redding was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The authorities determined that the woman did not fire the gun during the confrontation.

District Court Judge Caught by Intern as He Was Rummaging Through Drawer

Despite pleading not guilty to felony burglary charge, the district court judge admitted entering the 23-year-old woman’s house on more than one occasion to steal worn undergarments.

The event that led to the arrest of Cicale occurred on Thursday, when the 23-year-old woman, who was not named by the authorities but used to be one of Cicale’s interns, called her mother about someone breaking into her apartment.

According to the authorities, the woman woke up to a noise coming from downstairs. As she went to investigate, the woman saw an individual running away with something in his hands.

The individual, later identified as the district court judge, taken into custody and charged with felony burglary.

During his police interview, Cicale told the detectives that it was he who broke into the woman’s house that night. More than that, the district court judge who usually undertakes misdemeanors, admitted entering the woman’s home several times and that he has a morbid fascination with women’s soiled undergarments.

Conclusion

The authorities declared that, at the time of his arrest, the Suffolk County district judge was carrying several pairs of worn underpants he managed to steal from his intern’s home.

Moreover, a search of his apartment revealed a noteworthy cache of women’s underwear. The judge refused to disclose from where he stole the clothing found at his house.

After entering a not guilty plea, Cicale was placed on administrative leave and ordered to wear a GPS ankle monitor. He was later discharged from the county jail after posting a $25,000 bail.

Georgia Mother Intentionally Hits Pole to Prove God is Real

Georgia Mother Nabbed for Trying to Prove a Theological Point

The Georgia mother told the authorities that God would protect her children.

COUNCIL CHRONICLE – The Georgia authorities have a rather strange car crash case to investigate last week. According to the police report, a Georgia mother intentionally rammed a concrete pole to prove to her children that God is very real and it will protect them from any injuries.

Kids Said Georgia Mother Closed Her Eye Before Ramming Pole

Last week, according to a Georgia Police spokesperson, a 25-year-old mother of two, later identified Bakari Warren, was driving with her two children home.

At one point, just after passing Norcross, the woman began a theological discussion about whether God is real or not with her children. After she realized that there’s no chance to prevail in front of her ever-dismissive toddlers, the woman sought to prove her point in a most unusual and deadly manner.

According to the tykes, Warren was babbling about the greatness of the Creator and saying that he is real when she simply took her hands off the steering wheel and closed her eyes.

Seconds later, the car crashed into a nearby concrete pole. Luckily, no one was injured in the crash, except the pole.  The first responders arrived a couple of minutes later to assess the situation and to provide medical assistance if required.

According to the authorities, the 25-year-old driver had a few bruises after the impact with the concrete pole, but the two children were unharmed. Upon being questioned by the police, the Georgia mother blatantly declared that she merely wanted to teach her kids a valuable life lesson and wouldn’t even dream of harming them.

The woman also declared that they were never in real danger, as God in the Heaves looked after her.

Of course, God doesn’t allow drivers to ram their cars into concrete poles to prove that he’s real, so the woman received a lesser Biblical punishment – booked into county jail on a $25,000 bonds.

California Deputies Under Scrutiny for Defrauding a Woman Diagnosed with Dementia

March 19, 2018 By Ben Beckstrom Leave a Comment

California Deputies Swindle Old Woman

Two California deputies are accused of stealing money from woman with dementia, selling her house, and shipping her to her relatives.

COUNCIL CHRONICLE – North Highlands Sheriff’s Department declared that two deputies had been placed on administrative leave after the authorities uncovered that the two had been involved in a plot to defraud a 75-year-old dementia patient. The officers are accused of stealing the woman’s money, putting her house on sale, and shipping her to the Philippines.

California Deputies Obtained Power of Attorney to ‘Help’ the Woman

According to the North Highlands Sherriff’s Office, Stephanie Angel and another deputy have been recently placed on administrative leave pending an internal investigation. Angel and her colleague are accused of taking advantage of 75-year-old Rosalie Santallan Achiu, a military wife, who has been struggling with dementia for the past decade.

Following her husband’s death, Achiu couldn’t care for herself and, on one occasion, called the authorities in order to deal with some of the people she willingly shared the house with.

Angel is accused of having to influence Achiu into granting her power of attorney so that she could access the woman’s funds and to manage her property.

Allegedly, Angel convinced her victim to move into her house and, on more than one occasions, she could be seen taking Achiu to the bank where she withdrew substantial amounts of money.

Furthermore, after a while, the California deputies persuaded the woman to live with her relatives in the Philippines. As a result, the woman was placed on an airplane bound to the Philippines while Angel listed Achiu’s house as for sale.

Conclusion

The authorities began suspecting foul play after the woman’s relatives alerted them regarding her mother’s unannounced arrival.

Angel’s attorney declared that both her client and the unidentified sheriff’s deputy were protecting Achiu’s interests and had never demanded monetary compensation for their efforts.

For the time being, the California deputies have been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

Are you ready for old school shoot ‘em up experience? Then hold on tight folks because 3D Realms, the gaming studio that produced masterpieces such as Duke Nukem 3D and Shadow Warrior has just announced a cyberpunk-inspired shooter. Called Ion Maiden, the game will deliver the same fast-paced action, deadly weapons, and tons of way to slaughter your enemies.

3D Realms Going Old School with Ion Maiden?

You’re probably wondering what the heck is wrong with 3D Realms and why in the world would anyone want to release a faux 3D Nukem-inspired game when everything revolves around 4K? Well, it’s true that the company’s move took us by surprise but considering that the indie/old school gender is winning ground fast in front of triple A’s, something as simple and nostalgic as Ion Maiden is more than welcome.

Now, Ion Maiden is far from being a Duke Nukem 3D clone, the game having a life of its own. Set is a dystopic future, where cybernetics produced hellish creatures, you’ll take the role of the Ion Maiden, the chick who knows how to handle her guns and quickly dispose of man, machine, and everything in between.

To make the game even more authentic, the gaming company has decided to stick with the graphical engine used to design Duke Nukem 3D and the first Shadow Warrior. As the Ion Maiden, you will have access to an insanely variated arsenal, from guns, Uzis, and grenade launchers, all the way to cyberpunk-inspired melee weapons such as shock batons.

Conclusion

The good news is that the game is now available on Steam and can be bought for a meager 22 bucks, which is a pretty good price for those who want to take a brisk walk down nostalgia lane. Here’s also the game’s launch trailer so you would know what to expect.

FBI says that UVA Health System patient records were accessed by hacker.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation recently concluded the investigation pertaining to the recent malware attack that targeted UVA Health devices. According to an FBI spokesperson, during the December 2017 hacking, over 1,000 patient health records were exposed, containing diagnosis, treatment, and home addresses. The man behind the attacks was allegedly taken into custody.

UVA Health Physician Devices Hacked, Thousands of Patients Exposed

The FBI revealed that, in December 2017, following a complain received by the UVA Health Systems, the agency discovered that an individual managed to plant a malware device, which granted him view rights of patient records stored physicians’ electronic devices.

Although the malware injection was discovered in late 2017, the agency has reasons to believe that the UVA Health Systems were exposed back in 2015, on the 23rd. Although the person behind this attack has had access to personal data for 19 months, the authorities have no reasons to believe that the individual viewed the records or used the stolen data for nefarious purposes.

According to the FBI official, the individual has been taken into custody and formally charged, but no name was released.

The report shows that after the attack, the hacker gained access to 1,882 patient records, documents which, according to the FBI, contained diagnosis, treatment schemes, names, and home address. Fortunately, the exposed UVA Health System records did not contain financial data such as credit card details.

Following the incident and the individual’s arrest, UVA Health Systems extended a formal apology to all patients whose medical history has been exposed and assured them that the company has taken ample steps in order to prevent a similar event in the future.

As for the individual behind these attacks, the only details released by the FBI were that he was operating from within the United States and that he was acting alone.

February 10, 2018 By Ben Beckstrom Leave a Comment

Ohio man found guilty

The Ohio man who stabbed to death a 16-year-old teen in 2014 has been sentenced to 62 years in prison.

An Ohio jury recently found 22-year-old Ricki Williams IV guilty as charged in the dumpster murder case. The man was sentenced last Tuesday to 62 years in prison for the slaying of 16-year-old Gina Burger and attempting to conceal the body by hiding it in a playpen.

Ohio Man Asked a Neighbor for Help in Removing the Body

On Tuesday, an Ohio jury sentence Ricki Williams IV to 62 years in prison after he pleaded guilty of stabbing to death Gina Burger in Austintown back in June 2014. According to court documents, the Ohio man, who first attempted to plead guilty by reasons of insanity, invited 16-year-old Burger to his Austintown apartment in order to have sexual relations.

Once the teen arrived, Williams took a knife from the kitchen and stabbed the teen several times in the chest. Allegedly, the whole scene was witnessed by Ronisha Johnson, Williams’ neighbor, who told the magistrates that she saw the man pulling the blood-covered knife from the teen’s chest and smelling it.

After stabbing Burger, Williams asked his neighbor to help him get rid of the body. According to the man’s affidavit, Williams placed the corpse inside a portable playpen, which he later tossed in the dumpster.

To make the case even more disturbing, right after killing the teen and placing her body in the playpen, the Ohio man called Jacqueline Bacher, Gina’s mother, and asked her if she’s willing to buy the playpen.

According to the authorities, Burger’s body was discovered the following day by the city’s garbage transfer staff. Following the teen’s autopsy, the authorities arrested Williams and charged him with first-degree premeditated murder, tampering with evidence, and kidnapping.

At the beginning of February, the man was sentenced to 62 years in prison. It’s not yet clear if the Ohio man’s neighbor has been arrested.
