New information on the upcoming Apple phone has been leaked by Ming-Chi Kuo from KGI Securities, giving the rumor mill one more reason to spin.
Until September, when the official releases are expected to pop up, we’ll have to make do with the announcement that the new iPhone will feature a new interface, new colouring, a slightly sturdier look due to the implementation of Force Touch and one deluxe model release.
Force Touch, already known to Apple users from the 12-inch MacBook and recently released Apple Watch is rumored to feature on the upcoming iPhone as well.
Force Touch allows Apple devices to make a difference between deeper and lighter touches on the devices’ screen, allowing for a higher reliability of actions. Provided this rumor proves to hold true, then we might look at a new iPhone that is slightly sturdier than its predecessing models.
For comparison, the iPhone 6 is 6.9 millimeters thick, with the Iphone 6 Plus measuring 7.1 millimeters in thickness. The upcoming iPhone, allegedly coming with the user interface changer Force Touch, will measure 0.15 millimeters extra in thickness.
Connected to the appearance of the new iPhone, alongside featuring Force Touch, the 7000 Series aluminium casing is also rumored to stick around. Apple Watch is already showcasing the chassis made of a new alloy that is 60 percent stronger and one third stainless steel. A smart move from Apple’s side to combat the PR disaster connected to iPhone-bending.
As for the colouring of the new iPhone, Kuo brings interesting news. The upcoming iPhone might shift from the patented gold model to a slightly more yellow shade. The spacey grey will be replaced by a darker, deeper shade of grey than that of iPhone 6.
How about a rosey gold case for the new handset? According to Kuo, Apple plans to introduce this new option alongside an alleged deluxe model made of 18-karat gold.
It isn’t too far fetched considering that the Apple Watch is already boasting a luxury edition made to this pattern and can be purchased for a price tag of 10,000 dollars.
Another rumor concerns the camera of the new iPhone. FaceTime will include a LED flash for the first time.
iOS 9 is already available for developers in beta version and promises to be a delight.
Nonetheless, until the rumor mill concludes and the official releases start coming out, all news of the sort should be taken with a pinch of salt.
