A man was shot by the police in San Bernardino.
Police from San Bernardino announced that a man was deadly shot after he ran away from the police while the officers were investigating a report about a man having a gun and threatening a family.
Sgt. Vicki Cervantes, the department’s spokesman, announced that the officers received a call to 911 on Sunday, when a 7-year-old girl told the police that two men were threatening her father with a gun in the park.
“Apparently she said there were subjects at the park with guns, or a subject with a gun, and they were going to kill her dad”, Cervantes claimed.
When the officers arrived there, the little girl and her father showed the police two suspects. Cervantes declared that one of them cooperated with them and was kept under restraint for questioning. The other one took his bicycle and run away.
Cervantes also declared that a policeman chased him and fired at him for several times. Authorities are now investigating the reasons the policeman shoot the man who died.
Until now, the man has not been identified.
The shooting was heard at 3:39 PM near Seccombe Lake Park in San Bernardino, according to Dario Robinson, a policeman from San Bernardino Department.
A man living in the neighborhood and who wanted to stay anonymous, declared that he doesn’t know what happened, but that odd things happen in the area.
The police didn’t give detailed information if the gun was found on the man or not, but they stated that the investigation is still at its beginning and that further information will be provided as soon as it will be available.
A video recorded on a witness’s phone brought out to light the first seconds after the man was shot. Passersby’s shouts could be heard.
